Today, I joined Searching for Plum Blossoms in the Snow (踏雪寻梅), a friendly local WeChat hiking group, to explore the Coquitlam Lake View, Sawblade, and Woodland Walk Loop on Burke Mountain.
After finishing the loop, we carried on to the nearby DeBoville Slough Trail along the Pitt River, where we were treated to a rare wildlife moment—spotting a mother bear and her two cubs roaming nearby! It was wonderful reconnecting with old friends, making new ones, and spending a truly beautiful autumn day outdoors together.
1. Trailhead Group Photo: I am behind the lens taking the shot for the group. Right before clicking the shutter, I got everyone laughing by asking out loud if my wife was beautiful!

3. Reconnecting with Old Friends: Phillip, Dodo, and Patrick catching up together at Sawblade Falls.
4. Sawblade Falls: A solo shot of Liz enjoying the cascading waters of Sawblade Falls.
5. Bringing Up the Rear: Hikers making their way along the lush Woodland Walk Trail. As safety coordinator, I stayed at the back sweeping the trail and captured this perspective.
